Fiber Broadband Starter Kit

Pre-Conference Workshop
Sunday July 25, 2021
12:30 pm – 5:30 pm

The Fiber Broadband Starter Kit Workshop Hopes to Provide Invaluable Resources to Those Thinking About Deploying A Fiber Broadband Network and to Those That Just Started Building.

A fiber deployment is so much more than just laying fiber.  From understanding legal and regulatory policies to funding options to launching the end user installations, it’s a complicated process that can be stressful—especially for newcomers to the industry. That’s why the Fiber Broadband Association is hosting a Fiber Broadband Starter Kit Workshop at this year’s Fiber Connect.

The Fiber Broadband Starter Kit is a series of sessions that bring together experts in the areas of FTTH Basics & Network Design, Community Broadband Assessment, Funding, Building Community Support and Political Will, Planning, Designing, Engineering, Construction and Installations. These sessions are designed to demystify the basics of bringing fiber broadband to a community and provide critical information to ensure network success.

“Our goal is to serve communities and companies that are considering deploying fiber and might be early in the process, and want to know more,” said Joseph Jones, Executive Vice President of On Trac, Inc., and the Conference Chairman for Fiber Connect 2021. “It is important to provide education based on experience from our speakers who have been there, done that.  Why re-create the wheel when others have already gone through a deployment and are willing to share their lessons learned.”

Attendees can expect to get a 360-degree view of what it takes to deploy fiber.  Our sessions will provide answers to your questions from some of the best in the industry and you will walk away feeling more ready than ever to bridge connectivity in your communities.
